A Casinha (the little casa) is a traditional fishermen’s residence at a convenient location on the Historic Quadrado’s north-east corner – an ideal spot for taking in all Trancoso has to offer.

With its colonial facade and simple pitched roof the exterior appears as a typically charming casa in the local Quadrado style. But inside are surprises, with a footprint in the shape of a classical Roman villa with open courtyard, a design adapted perfectly to the tropical lifestyle of Bahia with its emphasis on indoor/outdoor living.

The flow of movement from interior to outdoor spaces in the home is imperceptible. Eating-in is a particularly welcome option with proximity to local markets and a full kitchen and dining area within the casa, and two separate dining tables outside – one covered and one open to the sky.

Master suite furnished with a king bed and guest suite two singles.

Festivals in Quadrado

On the 19th and 20th of January, the traditional festival of São Sebastião takes place in the Historic Square of Trancoso, where the natives celebrate the day of the saint to the sound of leather samba. The mast, postcard of the village, is changed in a big party. The same happens on days 2 and 3 of February when they celebrate the day of São Brás.
